INTERIOR DESIGN TRICKS TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE BEAUTIFUL
Homes can be extremely challenging to design. The simplest detail can make your home feel claustrophobic or colossal if it doesn't fit. Interior decorators are the solutions to these challenges if you can't afford them, here are some tips and tricks to improve your home.
1. Measure dining tables before you buy them
One of the biggest mistakes made by homeowners is buying dining tables that are either way too big or small for their surrounding space. If you're in the market for a new dining table, try to find an appropriate table that fits the room size well. However, there are some tricks if you want a big table for a relatively small room like purchasing a round table.
2. Dont be shy with the artwork
Adding artwork will make your home seem timeless. However, when you add the artwork to your home you must ensure that it is well placed. You don't want to hang your artwork too high or low. A piece of good interior advice would be to place it three to eight inches above furniture. The bigger the art piece the lower it should be.
3. Don’t clutter your rooms
Cluttering a room is not only visually unpleasant but it can have a toll on your mental health. If you walk into a room with oversized furniture or too many furniture, you're more likely to feel like the walls are closing in on you. Decluttering is not only a step towards a better-looking home but also a life-changing step. Less is more when furnishing a small space!
4. Make sure you follow a good colour scheme
When designing you're home, it's important to establish a colour scheme/palette. Your floor shouldn't be one colour, your wall another and the ceiling another as it would come across disjointed. When choosing a colour palette to assign 50 per cent to a primary colour, 30 per cent to a secondary and 20 per cent to an accent colour.
5. Lighting makes a huge difference.
A room with incompetent lighting may make your home feel like a cave. A well-lit room customarily has three sources a light bouncing off walls. People sometimes make a common mistake because they believe they can have a bright room by painting it bright white which is often not the case. If a room in your home has poor lighting you should consider using mirrors to maximize brightness.
